You'll get to collaborate with colleagues, experiment with modern technologies, explore new possibilities, and discover new ways of working. It's about learning, innovating, and having fun while doing it!

The Challenge: Cross-domain Data Analysis

Across DeLaval, valuable data exists in connected machines, farm operations, manufacturing, engineering, service, warranty, and product development.

But what if we could connect this information to unlock smarter insights, better decisions, and entirely new opportunities?

In this hackathon, we'll explore how to connect data and knowledge across different systems and domains, building on DeLaval's existing technology platforms to enable powerful analytics, predictions, and innovative applications.

The capability layer
We will explore how to make data across DeLaval trustworthy, discoverable, connected, and fast to act on — improving correctness and traceability, access and discoverability, performance, visualization, and the interfaces that allow people and applications to use the data.

By connecting information across machines, farms, manufacturing, engineering, service, and warranty, we can create a stronger foundation for cross-domain analysis and decision-making.

The app layer
Imagine what we could do with this capability! We want your creative thinking to help show what's possible: predicting machine failures before they happen, helping service technicians troubleshoot issues remotely, analyzing warranty costs, identifying product quality trends, optimizing farm performance, and exploring sustainability opportunities.

The goal is to explore what smarter decision-support and innovative applications could look like when the right data is connected and easily accessible.

How this will work

Some teams will work on the capability layer. Others will work on the app layer.

Capability teams: Explore how to use game-changing technology to build capabilities that connect data across systems and unlock new applications. Needed expertise: software engineering, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, system integration, and understanding of DeLaval's technical environment.

App teams: Explore which game-changing applications could be built on top of this capability. Needed expertise: creative thinking, application development, product design, business understanding, and knowledge of user needs across DeLaval.

Two layers, one shared goal: by the end of the hackathon, we want a stronger connected data capability and a compelling vision for everything it makes possible.

Showcase Your Solution

The strongest teams will get the opportunity to present their solutions at the Grand Finale in front of key decision-makers at DeLaval, eager to discover what you've built and the potential impact your ideas could have beyond the hackathon.
