AI Business Value Hackathon
In this hackathon, we have two vital objectives: enhancing customer satisfaction and boosting mortgage sales, while leveraging AI to accelerate the modernization of our technical platform and deliver business value.
No technical expertise is required to submit an idea. Your strength is your domain knowledge of mission-critical processes. You don't need any background in coding or product development.
You are free to come up with any idea you want—as long as you think it will help optimize a mission-critical process within SEB.
When?
Hack Day: March 3rd, 08:30-17:00
Grand Finale & Celebration Dinner: March 5th, 14:00-17:00 (Optional afterwork from 17:00)

The Process: From Idea to Prototype
Submission: You formulate and submit a real-world idea.
Selection: An idea jury will select the ideas with the highest business value scores, based on:
Mission-criticality of the addressed process
Impact of the process optimization
Difficulty of building the solution
Private Coaching: If your idea gets selected, you'll receive private coaching to refine the idea into a brief ready to present to the developer team.
Matching: We match your challenge with a development team.
Collaboration: You will work together with the team.
How to Structure Your Idea
We recommend structuring your idea around these three points. Don't worry about having all the answers – this is just a starting point.
Which mission-critical process are you addressing?
Which activity/activities are very crucial and very suboptimal today? What is not working? What are the inefficiencies today?
What is your initial vision for the product? In your own words, what would a successful outcome look like? Do your best, you don't need a ready-made solution — that's what the hackathon is for!
Your Commitment
Initial meeting with the team: An online meeting where you present the idea to your team. You will explain why it is mission-critical, the current suboptimalities, and your vision for a solution.
Work together with the team throughout the whole hackathon process.
Presence on Hack Day: You join as an integrated part of the team.
If your team advances to the Grand Finale, your participation is required. Before the team's demo, you will have 1-2 minutes on stage to provide context for your idea to the jury.

Get closer to the users' actual workflow: what will actually happen on the screen, keyboard, and with the mouse?
